Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that Kosovo has improved by 34 positions compared to 2021 in the 2025 Global Organized Crime Index, marking a significant advancement in the country’s assessment of crime and governance.
According to Kurti, this ranking represents another major success for Kosovo in an international index, this time highlighting progress in the fight against organized crime. Based on the latest evaluation, Kosovo is assessed as the state with the lowest level of criminality in the region.
“This is a clear indicator of our joint commitment to combating organized crime, strengthening the rule of law, and enhancing trust in law-enforcement institutions. The index is supported and funded by the European Union, Interpol, and the U.S. Department of State,” Kurti wrote on Facebook on December 5, 2025.
