Kosovo has expressed strong support for the United States’ anti-narcotics operation in Venezuela, Prime Minister Albin Kurti confirmed on Saturday.

In a public statement, Kurti emphasized that holding state actors accountable for involvement in drug trafficking is essential for the global fight against narcotics. He underlined that combating organized crime requires decisive action, particularly when criminal networks are embedded within state structures.

The Prime Minister further warned of the growing threat posed by regional actors who continuously seek to destabilize security through hybrid, criminal, terrorist, and military actions. According to Kurti, increased vigilance toward such actors is necessary to protect democratic values and regional stability.

The statement follows US airstrikes in Venezuela, which reportedly led to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as part of the operation.

In his full post, Kurti reaffirmed that Kosovo, as a strategic ally of the United States and NATO, offers full support in the fight against narcotics trafficking and against attempts to undermine Western democratic values. He stressed that this support extends both within the region and beyond, particularly against proxy actors representing adversaries of democracy.

Kurti concluded by reiterating Kosovo’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation in security and rule-of-law efforts, highlighting that collective action remains crucial in addressing transnational crime and emerging security threats.
