Kurti’s full post:

“We are never close enough to Albania. There is always room for alignment, topics of common ground and areas of mutual benefit. Today, our economic relations are stronger than ever before. With the opening of two customs offices of the Republic of Kosovo in Durrës and Porto Romano, we gained access to the sea, which benefits businesses and our economy.”Investments from Albania and commercial exchanges have increased and are increasing. In 2023, Albania became our main trading partner. And this year, we marked a historical moment in our cooperation in the energy sector. We operationalized and inaugurated the Albanian electricity exchange ALPEX, which enables us to multiply exchanges through this joint exchange. Equally historic was the successful candidacy of Kosovo for the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games. It became possible precisely with the help and cooperation with Albania.”

“The Albanian coast will welcome the sport of sailing within the framework of these games. Of the bilateral agreements that exist between us, 58 were signed during these three years, and within the framework of which we held two joint physical meetings of our governments. The simplification of bureaucratic procedures facilitates the access of our citizens to services but also their daily life. The residence permit device is now obtained faster and with fewer procedures. As for the legalization of documents, we have removed the requirements for an apostille stamp. We have also signed an agreement with the Republic of Albania for the recognition of the right to exercise the professions of lawyer and mediator in both countries”.

“For over 200,000 residents of our common border zone, they move more freely with the operationalization of 26 separate crossings. And between the cross-border villages, we have started to build roads that connect us even more, and more easily, for more exchanges and more mountain tourism.”

“Among the most important nationwide projects, is the agreement for the construction of the Pristina-Durres railway. It will be the next physical infrastructure that responds to the will, desire and need to be closer. Meanwhile, the opening of air corridors with the Republic of Albania brings Kosovo closer to other countries. Travel time is shortened and the environment is preserved because the trajectory of flights to and from Kosovo is reduced. Kosovo and Albania are language and culture, arts and traditions, embodied within our nation. The unified primer and the beginning of the work for the Albanian Encyclopedia, seal the values and our common history”.
