Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the celebration of Organic Aronia Day in Prizren, an event organized by the association “Mjedra e Kosovës” and the company “ArtiFruit&Aronica.”
In his remarks, Kurti praised the dedication of farmers and highlighted the strategic role of organic agriculture in Kosovo’s sustainable economic development.
He noted that aronia, although a relatively new product in Kosovo, carries great potential for the future. Kurti also announced that within a year, local organic products will officially carry the organic logo and certification of the Republic of Kosovo, replacing the reliance on EU and other foreign certifications.
The Prime Minister emphasized that over €535 million have been invested in agriculture during his government’s mandate, underscoring both the financial support provided and the importance of infrastructure improvements and reduced bureaucracy for farmers.
“Aronia and other small fruits are part of our economic future and a model of how Kosovo can grow in a healthy and sustainable way,” Kurti stated.
