The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a meeting with Hans-Georg Engelke, Germany’s State Secretary for Internal Affairs, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Munich.

During the meeting, State Secretary Engelke congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on the formation of Kosovo’s new government, reaffirming Germany’s continued interest in strengthening bilateral relations with Kosovo.

The discussions focused on Kosovo’s economic development and democratic progress, with both sides emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation across several sectors. Security cooperation and the fight against organized crime were highlighted as key areas for further collaboration between Kosovo and Germany.

Another important topic addressed during the meeting was the status of Kosovo citizens living in the diaspora. Officials discussed efforts to regulate and clarify the state status of Kosovo citizens abroad, ensuring they are no longer treated as citizens of Serbia, although certain individual cases with administrative complications still remain.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Kosovo and Germany to deepen political, economic, and security cooperation while strengthening democratic institutions and international partnerships.
