Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, during his visit to Sarajevo, met with the Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Refik Lendo. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the two discussed bilateral relations and explored opportunities to strengthen and deepen cooperation between the two countries.
“Prime Minister Kurti thanked Vice President Lendo for the hospitality extended by the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. He informed him about the preparations the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are making to begin implementing the Berlin Process agreement, which will allow citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to travel to Kosovo using only their ID cards, starting January 1, 2025,” the statement said.
Moreover, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina “ratifying this agreement as soon as possible” so that it can be implemented by both sides.
Lendo thanked the Government of Kosovo for the decision regarding free movement with ID cards and expressed hope that his country would soon implement a similar reciprocal measure for Kosovar citizens, the Prime Minister’s Office added.
During the meeting, they also discussed institutional cooperation towards achieving shared goals in EU and NATO membership, as well as mutual instruments and platforms that could enhance cooperation in fields like economics, culture, education, and security.
