The Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved yesterday the report on Kosovo, paving the way for future steps towards membership in this Council.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti described this as a great achievement for Kosovo, for which it was praised that great work has been done.
The head of the government emphasized that this is good news for Europe, as according to him, Russia is out and Kosovo will be inside.
“It is a great growth for Kosovo, for which the Government of Kosovo has worked tirelessly for two and a half years, finally this spring is showing that it will be crowned with success, this is just the first step in spring, the next step comes in mid-April when it will be voted in the parliamentary assembly, the concluding step is in the council of ministers in May,” Kurti expressed.
“Beyond this, it is extremely good news for Europe, for the Albanian nation for democracy that in this geopolitical and historical epoch, the Russian Federation is outside and Kosovo is entering inside, it is a great recognition and understanding for the citizens of our country.”
“I believe that at the same time we are taking steps towards European integration, our goal is membership in the European Union and NATO, we will be close to non-recognizing states which in this way will have an argument to do so and recognize the independence of Kosovo.”
