The acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has once again refused to speak to journalists at the entrance of the Kosovo Assembly, shortly before the scheduled constitutive session set to begin at 11:00 AM.
Accompanied by his security team, Kurti was asked about the ongoing institutional deadlock, but as in previous instances, he gave no comment.
Today’s session marks the 20th attempt to constitute the Assembly — a process that continues to stall due to the lack of consensus on the election of the Speaker of the Assembly.
Vetëvendosje continues to support Albulena Haxhiu as its candidate, but she faces opposition from other parliamentary parties. So far, the most support Haxhiu has received is 57 votes, four short of the 61 required for election.
