The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid his respects this morning at the “Martyrs of Koshare” Memorial Complex, marking the 26th anniversary of the glorious Battle of Koshare.

“We come here to the graves of the martyrs to remind and honor ourselves of the high sacrifice they made, the glorious struggle of the KLA, and the great price of freedom we enjoy in the state we are building together,” said the Prime Minister after the tribute.

He emphasized that 26 years ago, with the glorious Battle of Koshare, the Kosovo Liberation Army, with fighters from almost all operational zones, broke the border that separated the Albanians, separating Kosovo from Albania, a border that had existed since 1913, specifically from 1918.

“From the ranks of the KLA, 114 fighters fell, led by Commander Agim Ramadani – Katana and Sali Çeku, but we also had over 400 wounded. At least 108 soldiers and officers of the aggressor and occupying Serbian army were killed. It is also important to emphasize that in the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army, we had volunteers from France, Algeria, Italy, Sweden, and Britain, while in the ranks of the Serbian army, there were mercenaries from Russia,” further stated Prime Minister Kurti.
