Kurti Receives Norway’s Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Discusses Opportunities to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today met with Norway’s Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Mr. Eirik Nestås Mathisen.

Kurti praised the strong relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Norway, expressing gratitude for Norway’s continued support throughout all stages of Kosovo’s state-building process, as well as in the country’s European integration efforts. He especially highlighted Norway’s active support for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe as a clear example of this commitment.

During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation in key areas such as defense and security, energy, and information technology. Regional issues and other topics of mutual interest were also addressed.

Kurti thanked Norway for its role in achieving the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the member countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), which is expected to open up new opportunities for the development of economic relations and the expansion of the country’s trade partnerships.
