Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has described Russia’s violation of Estonian airspace as “deeply concerning.”

Kurti emphasized that Kosovo stands in solidarity with Estonia in facing this situation.

“Today’s news about Russia’s violation of Estonian airspace is deeply concerning. Kosovo stands in solidarity with Estonia during this time,” Kurti wrote on X.

Estonia accused Russia of breaching its airspace after three MiG-31 fighter jets unlawfully entered the skies of the Baltic state.

According to Estonia’s Foreign Ministry, the incident occurred in the area of Vaindloo Island on Friday morning, with the aircraft remaining in Estonian airspace for nearly 12 minutes, reported the national news agency ERR.

Officials stated that the jets had no flight plans, their identification devices were switched off, and they did not communicate with Estonian air traffic services during the violation.

Estonian authorities strongly condemned the incident, describing it as an “unprecedented and brutal” violation of the country’s sovereignty.
