On Friday, Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, attended a meeting organized by the intellectual association “Krug 99” in the Sarajevo City Hall during his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Speaking at the event, Kurti emphasized that strengthening both Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina compels Serbia to refrain from repeating the crimes it committed in these two countries in the past. He stressed that the relationship between Bosnia and Kosovo is founded on shared values.
“Sarajevo is less than six hours away from Pristina, but to get here, my delegation and I had to overcome visa restrictions. I bring greetings from the people of Kosovo, who see Bosnia as a friend. We share the same history and have a common European future, which is why we unilaterally implemented the agreement on free movement based on identification cards, as achieved through the Berlin Process,” Kurti said.
Kurti also stated that Kosovo owes Bosnia-Herzegovina, particularly in reference to the war period in both countries.
“Bosnia and Kosovo are connected by a painful and tragic history. In many ways, Kosovo owes Bosnia. In Bosnia, NATO intervention came after the fourth year of the war, and in Kosovo, it came after the second year. Strengthening Bosnia and Kosovo forces Serbia to not repeat its past crimes,” Kurti added.
