Mimoza Kusari-Lila, chairwoman of the Alternativa party, confirmed that Albin Kurti, leader of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV), is expected to respond positively to the invitation by President Vjosa Osmani for a meeting scheduled for Thursday. The invitation comes in the wake of yet another failure—the 15th attempt—to elect parliamentary bodies and move forward with the formation of Kosovo’s new institutions.
Kusari-Lila emphasized that the meeting should focus on the constitution of the Assembly, rather than becoming a platform for political agreements.
“The office of the President must not be used to facilitate political bargains. This is a moment to focus on constitutional responsibilities and to bring this institutional deadlock to an end,” she said.
She also commented on the motion sent to the Constitutional Court by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) regarding a proposed change in the voting procedure for electing the Speaker of the Assembly. According to her, the way the request was formulated may not be admissible under constitutional standards.
The political scene remains tense, with opposition parties accusing the ruling coalition of intentional stalling, while LVV maintains that consensus and proper legal procedures are essential.
