The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has paid tribute to the Jashari family and their sacrifice.
In a post on the social media platform Facebook, Kurti expressed that so much was fought and sacrificed for the liberation of Kosovo and the independent Republic.
“For the liberation of Kosovo and the independent Republic, so much was fought and sacrificed. Adem Jashari, together with his family, made the most sublime sacrifice for freedom. Remembering their deeds is a civic, state, and national obligation, and a continuation of the tradition established 26 years ago, when the first anniversary of the Epopa was marked, of the resistance and heroic stand of the Jashari family in Prekaz. At that time, we had the KLA led and inspired by Commander Adem Jashari, and today we have the Kosovo Army stronger, better equipped, better armed, and better trained than ever before, which we are building and strengthening for the security and defense of our country,” wrote Kurti.
