Today, construction work began on the Prizren-Tetovo road, attended by Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.

He also addressed the issue of the Ibër Bridge, stating that it is a matter for Kosovo and was concluded with Brussels in 2016-2017.

Kurti added that they must first wait for the stability report of the Ibër Bridge.

“We have not received anything official. The issue of the Ibër Bridge is a matter for Kosovo, and it was concluded with Brussels in 2016-2017, and the bridge should be opened. We desire free movement of citizens, rule of law, and peace and security. From our perspective, what we need to wait for is the report on the bridge’s stability. We need to wait for the report, assess how stable the bridge is once we see it. I have not seen it because it has not yet reached the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MAPL). It’s not a matter of discussion; it’s a matter of opening. All discussions were concluded in 2016, and it was said that the bridge should be opened by January 20, 2017. Now, we are neither in January nor in 2017. We are in August 2024,” Kurti said.
