Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, during a visit to the renovated facilities of the Institute of Pathological Anatomy, addressed recent political developments.

He was asked about the issue concerning the president.

“I have nothing further to add beyond the press conference I already held. We now have a case before the Constitutional Court. I believe we do not need to repeat 2025; 2026 is a new year. We need a political agreement with opposition parties regarding the president issue. New elections would cost us 10 million euros. There should be no new elections just to enter a race over which party can reach 80 deputies,” Kurti said.

It is worth noting that four days ago, the Constitutional Court issued a temporary measure until March 31 against President Vjosa Osmani’s decree to dissolve the Assembly of Kosovo.

The Court stated that the decision prohibits any actions by President Osmani regarding the March 6 decree and also prohibits any action by the Assembly of Kosovo while the temporary measure is in effect.
