The Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, took part in the commemoration of the 147th anniversary of the founding of the Albanian League of Prizren, where he emphasized its historical significance for the identity and political orientation of the Albanian people.
“We have never changed the call of this annual event, which proclaims: the League is alive. The organization, the Albanian League with its seat in Prizren, represents the pinnacle of the Albanian national movement and renaissance.
The League, founded in Prizren, at the Bajrakli Mosque, serves as a knot where all key issues and central themes of modern Albanian history converge—both within the internal Albanian context and in the global society of the time.
The League was establishing a new direction—the idea of unification, through shared ideals, representation, and collective efforts. It united Albanians around a single national project, transcending religious, regional, and tribal differences, gathering the largest possible number of Albanians across the four vilayets inhabited by an Albanian majority.
The goal was the creation of an Albanian Vilayet,” Kurti stated.
