Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, visited the Islamic Community of Kosovo, where during a conversation with Mufti Naim Tërnava, he shared details about the upcoming constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly, which is expected to be held after the certification of the results from the February 9th elections, reports Rks News.
Kurti mentioned that the goal is to hold the deputies’ oath, elect the speaker and the assembly presidency, as well as vote for the new government, all on the same day as was done during the previous session.
“After the results are published, there will be a session where we take the oath. We aim for a session to elect the speaker, the presidency, and the government, as we did last time on the same day,” said Prime Minister Kurti.
During the conversation, a humorous moment occurred when Mufti Tërnava asked Kurti whether the deputies would see changes in their salaries after taking the oath.
“When the deputies take the oath, will their salaries go up?” asked Tërnava.
Kurti humorously responded, saying, “It seems so,” while Tërnava added with a smile, “Deputies, may God extend your term.”
This light and amusing moment created a positive atmosphere during the visit and highlighted the friendly and respectful relations between the leaders of the institutions and the Islamic Community of Kosovo.
