The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, stated that the core issue behind the ongoing attacks in northern Kosovo originating from Serbia stems from the fact that the chief terrorist, Milan Radoičić, remains at large.

“The primary problem regarding these attacks, in my conviction, is the fact that Milan Radoičić has not been handed over by Serbian authorities to Kosovo, where he must face justice. He already has a 160-page indictment against him, as well as an arrest warrant. All these past attacks, and the ones they are planning for the future, would significantly decrease in likelihood if Radoičić were handed over to Kosovo’s institutions, police, and judiciary. This is the crux of the issue,” Kurti emphasized.

He called on the international community to pressure Belgrade into extraditing Radoičić.

“We call on international actors to exert pressure on official Belgrade to hand over the chief criminal Radoičić to Kosovo’s institutions. In Kosovo, the rule of law prevails, and our courts are incomparably better than those in Serbia, as confirmed by international reports. Additionally, we have EULEX monitoring. If Serbia has doubts about whether Radoičić would receive a fair trial here, EULEX is present to oversee all cases in Kosovo. Therefore, he must be handed over to Kosovo.

However, what we could not have imagined is that someone would seek to leave more than half of Kosovo without water, heating, telecommunications, and energy. If criminal and terrorist imagination goes that far, I don’t think we should be blaming our police officers,” Kurti concluded.
