Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the Serbian army’s exercises with helicopters and paratroopers just meters from the Kosovo border constitute a dangerous display of aggression, according to him.

In the fifth government meeting, Kurti said this display becomes even more alarming considering that the unit exercising near Kosovo, as the Prime Minister noted, is the same one that trained the criminal Milan Radoiçiq.

“We are deeply concerned about Serbia’s unjustified military demonstrations, with helicopters and paratroopers in Albanian-inhabited areas in the municipality of Bujanovac, very close to the border with the Republic of Kosovo.”

“Such a show of military force over homes, schools, and medical centers not only constitutes pressure, provokes tension, and attempts to intimidate residents who have for years faced administrative ethnic cleansing by the autocratic Serbian regime, but also represents an open provocation against our independent state,” he added.

Kurti further noted that with these moves, along with the purchase of rockets from China, Serbia uses its army as a tool of blackmail to keep the Western Balkans in continuous tension.

He also said that Serbia’s actions are partly driven by desperation.

Kurti called on the Albanians of the Presheva Valley not to fall prey to these “provocations.”

He also urged the democratic world to take action and punish Serbia.
