Kurti Hosts US Congress Delegation and Atlantic Council Representatives

Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today welcomed a delegation of US Congressional staff and representatives from the prestigious Atlantic Council organization, as part of the 2025 Balkan Forward Fellows program organized by the renowned think-tank.

During the meeting, Kurti thanked the guests for their interest and dedication to the Balkan region, emphasizing the close relations and historical friendship between Kosovo and the United States of America. He praised the continuous bipartisan support that Kosovo has enjoyed in the US over the years.

In the discussion, Kurti informed the delegation about current developments in the country, including economic progress, democratic reforms, the fight against corruption, and the advancement of human rights, all of which have been positively assessed in international reports.

Key issues for Kosovo’s future were also addressed, such as the path towards European Union membership, efforts to strengthen international subjectivity, and the dialogue process with Serbia. In this context, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance of signing and implementing the Basic Brussels Agreement and its Ohrid Annex.

Discussions also included issues of economic stability, cooperation in the field of defense, as well as topics of common interest for strengthening stability and development in the region.
