Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid a visit to Manastir on Saturday to mark Albanian Alphabet Day, accompanied by Speaker of Parliament Afrim Gashi and leaders of the VLEN coalition.

The Mayor of Çair Municipality, Izet Mexhiti, shared details of the visit, emphasizing that he and VLEN leaders hosted Kurti for a working lunch, where they discussed current political developments and opportunities to deepen cooperation between Kosovo and North Macedonia. According to Mexhiti, the conversation focused on practical ways to enhance collaboration in areas that directly impact citizens’ daily lives.

Mexhiti added that the meeting was held shortly before the central ceremony commemorating Albanian Alphabet Day in Manastir — a date which, he said, honors the historic decision of Albanian Renaissance figures to unify the national alphabet, providing the Albanian people with a shared foundation for cultural and educational progress.

“This working meeting was followed by an event symbolizing identity, resilience, and the nation’s clear direction. Today, as we honored the Albanian alphabet, the importance of coordination in ideas, vision, and action felt even stronger,” Mexhiti concluded.
