Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, shared a statement from the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, announcing that the water situation is returning to normal after the explosion at the Ibër Lepenc canal. Kurti stated that water inflows to the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) have reached optimal levels for the Kosova B thermal power plant’s water supply.
Kurti’s update:
“The water inflows to KEK have reached optimal levels for the supply of water to the Kosova B thermal power plant.”
The water supply to treatment plants in the regions of Mitrovica and Prishtina has resumed, and water distribution for citizens of the municipalities of Skenderaj, South Mitrovica, North Mitrovica, and Zvečan has started.
Additionally, water supply for citizens in Fushë Kosovë, Drenas, and Obiliq is expected to normalize shortly.
