Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated on Sunday that his government is preparing for the formation of the “Kurti 3” administration, while also expressing readiness to face new elections if necessary.

Speaking at a press conference, Kurti reminded that the final day of the 15-day deadline for voting on the new government is October 26.

“The last possible day for the session in which I will present the new cabinet is October 26. These days we are focused on a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the local election results, but very soon, starting this week, we will begin discussions on forming the new central government,” Kurti said.

He emphasized that Kosovo needs another mandate for his government, in line with the results of the February 9 elections earlier this year.

“As the acting prime minister, I have now entered the seventh month of the fifth year of my full four-year term, and we must have a regular mandate, which will begin as soon as we present the composition of the new government — the ‘Kurti 3’ cabinet,” he added.

Kurti also stressed that they do not plan to wait until October 26 to form the new government.
