Prime Minister Albin Kurti reacted on Twitter, welcoming the European Union’s decision to lift the measures imposed on Kosovo.
He emphasized that the measures were unjust and penalized Kosovo for divisions orchestrated by Serbia, which also led to terrorist attacks such as the one in Banjska and the attack on Ibër-Lepenc.
Kurti added that Kosovo remains firmly committed to the European Union and to democratic values.
Full statement:
“We welcome the EU’s decision to lift the measures imposed on Kosovo. Our government has consistently maintained that these measures were unjust from the outset, as they sanctioned Kosovo for divisions orchestrated by Serbia—an agenda that also led to multiple major terrorist attacks on our territory, including the fatal attack in Banjska and another targeting critical infrastructure in Ibër-Lepenc. Throughout this period, we have remained fully committed to the European Union, to meeting the criteria for membership, and to continuing as dedicated allies and champions of democratic values.”
