Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that victories for Kosovo against major powers in sports once seemed impossible, but today it is a reality.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports organized a reception for Kosovo’s Olympic team on “George Bush” Square, celebrating their participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
During his speech, Kurti expressed pride and joy in the achievements of the Kosovar team. He congratulated the athletes and welcomed them back home.
“Our judo team has continued our tradition of winning Olympic medals at every Games we have participated in so far. On behalf of all citizens, I have the honor of congratulating you and welcoming you back to your home.”
“This country, which you have made proud, will always keep the path open for your future successes. It once seemed like a fantasy for Kosovo to triumph against major powers, but now it is a reality. The entire Olympic team, keep working hard, because good dreams never end,” Kurti said.
The Kosovar team recently returned from Paris, where they competed in the Olympic Games.
They brought back two medals: judoka Distria Krasniqi won the silver medal, and Laura Faziu won the bronze.
