The head of the Kosovo Tourism Association, Ruzhdi Kurtishaj, has stated that this summer has seen a significant increase in interest from Kosovars to vacation on Albania’s beaches.
In a social media post, Kurtishaj emphasized that there is no abandonment of tourism by Kosovo’s citizens, as some claims have suggested. On the contrary, interest is continuously growing.
“Oh Zak Topuzi, there is no abandonment of tourism by Kosovars — quite the opposite, we’re seeing an exponential increase in interest and bookings!” he wrote, referring to recent public debates over Kosovars’ favorite vacation spots.
He added that in just the past two days, over 1,500 tourists from various cities across Kosovo have traveled in an organized manner to tourist destinations in Albania through Sharr Travel and its partners. The most popular destinations remain Lezha, Shëngjin, Durrës, Vlorë, Dhërmi, Jale, Himarë, Sarandë, and Ksamil.
Kurtishaj also thanked the citizens for their trust, as well as hotel partners and Albanian institutions for fostering a favorable environment for the development of Albanian tourism.
“Thank you to the citizens who trust us, to our partners — the many hotels in Albania, and to the Albanian Government and local authorities,” he concluded.
