Former EU Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Miroslav Lajčák, recently discussed how the EU enlargement process can enhance European security during a conference hosted by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).

Lajčák emphasized that the enlargement process cannot happen automatically and requires more than just a formal commitment. The Slovak diplomat stressed that it demands tireless work and continuous attention.

“At this year’s @ecfr #ACM25 conference, we discussed how enlargement can promote European security. I stressed that enlargement will not happen automatically. It requires more than a verbal commitment, but tireless work and continuous attention,” Lajčák wrote on social media.
