Stavros Lambrinidis, the European Union’s Ambassador to the United Nations, stated during today’s UN Security Council session that the EU expects Serbia to take concrete action and prosecute those responsible for the 2023 Banjska attack.

“The European Union expects Serbia to take measures and apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of the 2023 Banjska attack. So far, Serbia’s actions have been insufficient,” Lambrinidis said.

He also expressed the EU’s concern over the situation in northern Kosovo, emphasizing the need for stability and the rule of law.

The European diplomat further referred to elections in Kosovo, including those held in the north, and urged Kosovo to facilitate the reintegration and return to duty of judges, prosecutors, and police officers who had previously resigned.
