The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has requested KFOR’s assistance to intervene in the fires that have erupted in the “Sharri” National Park.
According to the announcement, KFOR representatives are monitoring the situation and analyzing intervention possibilities.
The EPA reported that the fire continues to spread towards the tourist village of Prevalla and has also affected the strictly protected area of “Maja e Arnenit.”
To assist in extinguishing the fire and preventing its spread, more than 20 firefighters from the Prizren Fire Brigade, a team from the Kosovo Police Prizren Station, and several volunteers are engaged.
Additionally, members of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) are on the ground to assess the situation and take necessary measures.
The Director of the “Sharri” National Park, Mr. Bajram Kafexholli, held a meeting with KFOR representatives this morning, requesting possible intervention with helicopters to extinguish the fire.
KFOR has emphasized that it is monitoring the situation and is considering intervention options.
