Latvian soldiers in the Eastern Regional Command have conducted a routine patrol in northern Kosovo “to guarantee freedom of movement and general security.”
These actions are part of KFOR’s “daily mission to ensure a safe environment for all communities living in Kosovo.”
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a secure and safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially,” said a KFOR statement.
KFOR works closely with the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) in their respective security roles.
