Well-known Kosovar lawyer Arbër Jashari has reacted to statements made by Serbian journalist Dragan Krstic in an interview for Klan Kosova TV, regarding the killing of Kosovo’s hero, Afrim Bunjaku.

Jashari emphasized that from a legal perspective, the killing of Officer Bunjaku constitutes a serious criminal offense, which has been classified by the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo as “Commission of a terrorist act,” as outlined in Article 129, paragraph 3 of the Kosovo Criminal Code.

“This offense includes the element of murder and is punishable by no less than 15 years in prison, up to life imprisonment,” Jashari stated.

He underlined that Bunjaku’s killing is an indisputable fact and represents a grave criminal act. “It is essential that individuals lacking sufficient legal knowledge exercise restraint in their public statements, especially in such sensitive cases,” he added.

According to the lawyer, reckless statements regarding such incidents can create confusion among the public and harm both the pursuit of justice and the truth.

Afrim Bunjaku lost his life during an armed attack in northern Kosovo an event the authorities have described as an organized act of terrorism.
