Lawyer Arbër Jashari commented on today’s arrest of a high-ranking police official suspected of collaborating with Serbian state structures, calling it a significant setback for those undermining Kosovo’s interests.
“Kosovo is becoming a safer country every day, thanks to the professional work and extraordinary dedication of its security structures, with AKI (Kosovo Intelligence Agency) at the helm,” Jashari wrote on Facebook.
He emphasized that “Today’s arrest of a high-ranking police official, under suspicion of cooperation with Serbian state structures and the leaking of sensitive information, is another severe blow to all those acting against the interests of the state of Kosovo.”
Jashari further stated that “Time is clearly showing that the activities of agents and spies linked to Serbia since the post-war period have severely damaged the state, bringing us politically motivated judicial processes against KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) members, tarnishing our international image, and posing a permanent risk of internal destabilization.”
He concluded optimistically, “The good thing is that this era is coming to an end.”
