Radomir Lazović, co-president of the Green-Left Front (ZLF), has stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and National Assembly President Ana Brnabić refused to meet with a European Union (EU) delegation because “they do not have answers to the questions the delegation will pose.”

Speaking to Nova, Lazović emphasized the importance of the European Parliament’s special mission to Serbia, calling Brnabić’s refusal to meet a “diplomatic scandal.”

“Both Brnabić and Vučić are aware that they cannot answer the delegation’s questions, which is why they refused the meeting. Vučić also avoided the EU–Western Balkans summit because he anticipated harsh criticism,” Lazović said.

Brnabić stated yesterday that the EU parliamentary delegation was arriving without an official invitation, and she would not meet them as she would be in Estonia at that time.

The European Parliament mission will be in Belgrade from January 22–24, while Vučić is scheduled to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.
