Deputy leaders of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Hykmete Bajrami and Lutfi Haziri, along with MP Jehona Lushaku, hosted Anu Prattipati, the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, today at the LDK’s main headquarters.

During the meeting, the parties discussed recent political developments in Kosovo, focusing particularly on the current stalemate in the Kosovo Assembly caused by its failure to convene.

According to a statement from the LDK, the importance of addressing the issue through the Constitutional Court was emphasized. The LDK has already submitted the matter for constitutional interpretation.

“LDK representatives reiterated the importance of a fair decision by the Constitutional Court, one that is firmly based on the Constitution and serves the interest of institutional stability, so the country can overcome the ongoing political and institutional crisis as soon as possible,” the statement reads.

The Democratic League of Kosovo also expressed deep appreciation for the continued support from the United States of America, both in the state-building process and during the current challenges.

“The LDK emphasizes that the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between Kosovo and the U.S. remain vital for the country’s democratic development and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.”
