The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has convened its leadership team, with the nomination of the party’s candidate for Prime Minister for the upcoming early elections on 28 December expected to be a central topic.

For the 9 February elections, the candidate was party president Lumir Abdixhiku.

Agenda highlights include:

  • Discussion of recent local election results, including presentation of final tallies, political and organizational analysis of the campaign, identification of strengths and weaknesses, and evaluation of branch and candidate performance.
  • Nomination of the LDK candidate for Prime Minister, with proposals presented, internal discussion among leadership members, and a voting procedure to approve the candidate.
  • Preparations for the 28 December national elections, including campaign planning, determination of organizational structures and the Election Headquarters, mobilization of local branches, and strategic communication planning.
  • Calling the General Council, setting its date and agenda, preparing official materials and documents, and implementing statutory procedures.
  • Other matters, including the LDK founding anniversary and additional issues raised by leadership members.

The early elections on 28 December follow two unsuccessful attempts to form a government based on the 9 February election results.
