The Democratic League of Kosovo (Democratic League of Kosovo) says there is still no political agreement with Vetëvendosje (VV) regarding the election of the President.
LDK spokesperson and MP Besian Mustafa stated after a meeting of the party’s Parliamentary Group that there is currently no broad political consensus on the issue.
“We held a meeting of the LDK Parliamentary Group and the shared opinion is that snap elections are avoidable and unnecessary at this stage,” Mustafa said.
He explained that LDK has presented two options to resolve the presidential matter:
- A broad political consensus among parliamentary parties.
- A classic political agreement between two parties.
Mustafa clarified the difference between the two approaches:
- A broad consensus would mean that parliamentary parties first agree on principles and then on specific names.
- A political agreement would follow a similar procedure but would involve only two parties reaching a deal.
So far, however, no final agreement has been reached.
