Prishtina, July 9, 2025 — The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has officially announced the party’s candidates for the upcoming autumn local elections. During a press conference held today, Abdixhiku confirmed that Përparim Rama will once again run as LDK’s candidate for mayor of Prishtina.
“We began the consultative process some time ago, driven by strong internal support. In today’s meeting, these candidacies were unanimously approved,” said Abdixhiku.
Alongside Rama’s nomination for Prishtina, Abdixhiku unveiled a full slate of mayoral candidates across key municipalities, as well as 990 candidates for municipal assemblies in 32 municipalities where the LDK will contest.

Abdixhiku emphasized that the party’s preparations for the elections are being conducted in a spirit of unity and determination, aimed at strengthening local governance and restoring trust in public institutions.
