The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has decided to terminate its coalition with Vetëvendosje (VV) in Mitrovica, after approximately one month of cooperation.
At a meeting held this evening, it was voted to end cooperation with Mayor Faton Peci, following his decision to appoint Gazmend Asllani as a director without the approval of LDK, which had proposed other candidates for the position.
The decision was taken during today’s meeting, which was attended by the entire party leadership.
The power-sharing agreement had been reached prior to Faton Peci’s swearing-in as Mayor of South Mitrovica. As part of this agreement, Safet Kamberi had also been elected as Chair of the Municipal Assembly.
