The well-known Serbian sports journalist Milojko Pantić has commented on the renewed conflicts between students and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
According to Pantić, the students have emerged victorious every time. This time, they are on opposite sides due to the response of the authorities and the Serbian police following the tragedy in Novi Sad, where 15 people lost their lives after a tent collapsed at the train station.
Pantić begins the video by quoting statements from Aleksandar Vučić, who claims that he went out onto the balcony in front of the students who were protesting in front of the Palace of Serbia, as well as showing videos of the current situation at the Palace, which show Vučić briefly “watching” from behind the curtains.
“You’ve seen another proof that the leader of the Red Star supporters is not in good health. He dreamed he came out in front of the students, and that they shut their mouths. However, he was filmed hiding behind the curtain like a little mouse, waiting for the students to disperse,” Pantić said.
Milojko Pantić then recalled the previous “clashes” between the students and Aleksandar Vučić in past years.
“After the attack by Vučić’s thugs in 2018 on opposition deputy Borko Stefanović and his bloodied shirt, the students organized the ‘One in Five Million’ protest march,” Pantić recalled, adding that the mass protests lasted throughout the year.
These protests culminated in President Aleksandar Vučić eventually being forced to call for early elections, despite previously claiming he would not meet the students’ demands. According to Pantić, Vučić effectively “stole” those elections.
