Leader of the Social Democratic Initiative, Fatmir Limaj, reacted ahead of the 35th session of the Kosovo Assembly, which has been convened again in an effort to constitute new institutions.

In a statement to the media, Limaj expressed concern about the political situation in the country and the repeated failures to form new institutions despite the parties’ electoral victories.

“What is happening is astonishing. To be elected, to promise to make the country better, to run campaigns competing over who is more patriotic, to gain the people’s trust, and yet political groups are unable to sit down and build a government, parliament, and institutions — at a time when the world is shaken, facing a major economic crisis,” Limaj said.

He emphasized that the current situation calls for deep reflection, not only from politicians but also from citizens.

“In all this, my appeal to the citizens is: look carefully at whom you are giving your trust. It is time to hold responsibility,” he stressed.
