Fatmir Limaj, the leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA), claims that Prime Minister Albin Kurti offered his party participation in the government as part of efforts to resolve the deadlock in constituting Kosovo’s Assembly. Speaking on “Pressing” on T7, Limaj said he rejected the offer, stating that NISMA is not interested in governance at this stage.
Instead, he proposed to Kurti a partnership at the Assembly level, which includes the position of Speaker of the Assembly and a package of legal reforms.
“Kurti offered me an option for government participation, meaning NISMA would be part of the executive. I told him NISMA is not interested in being part of the government. We can offer a partnership in the Assembly — for now, we’re going with the minimum,” Limaj stated.
According to Limaj, their aim is to contribute to legislative processes through the Assembly without taking on executive roles.
