Lithuania has officially opened its consulate in Kosovo, an event viewed as a new chapter in the deepening relations between the two countries.
At the official ceremony, Lithuania’s non-resident ambassador to Kosovo, Eduardas Borisovas, stated that the consulate’s opening represents a concrete step towards strengthening institutional, economic, and cultural cooperation. He emphasized Lithuania’s continued support for Kosovo’s European integration and the consolidation of its statehood on the international stage.
Ardian Gola, Vice President of the Assembly of Kosovo, described the act as a demonstration of mutual trust and strategic partnership. He stressed that deepening parliamentary relations and exchanging experience in democratic reforms remain a shared priority.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, highlighted the importance of cooperation in security and rule of law, noting that the consular presence will facilitate institutional communication and strengthen coordination on shared issues.
Meanwhile, Honorary Consul Bashkim Zeqiri expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to work on promoting mutual interests, building new bridges of cooperation in economy, education, culture, and investment.
The opening of the consulate represents not only a stronger Lithuanian diplomatic presence in Kosovo but also a clear signal of both countries’ commitment to a long-term partnership based on respect, solidarity, and a shared European vision.
