The Mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, stated on Wednesday evening that given the current political situation in Kosovo, he would have preferred for Glauk Konjufca to receive the mandate for Prime Minister.

Lladrovci said on Klan Kosova that despite his personal friendships across political parties, the country is now heading toward early parliamentary elections, likely in December or early January.

“I don’t want to analyze Vetëvendosje too much. Glauk is my friend; we have friendships regardless of which political party someone belongs to, and no one can deny that,” Lladrovci said.

He added: “In this situation, I would have wished for Glauk to receive the PM mandate today. But the opposition parties decided otherwise, and we now expect to head very soon into early elections — either in December or at the start of January. The President will decide after consultations with political parties.”

Lladrovci warned that the absence of a functioning government and the lack of a constituted parliament is causing significant harm to the country, especially given the sensitive context Kosovo is currently facing.
