The mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, has publicly criticized the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, accusing him of attempting to “equate the cause with the consequence” in the internal disputes affecting the party.
One day earlier, Hamza stated in a press conference that Lladrovci had not been expelled from the party and emphasized that PDK aims to maximize electoral support ahead of the December 28 snap elections.
However, in a post published on Facebook, Lladrovci said that some PDK officials are trying to portray a “defeat as a victory,” adding that the political “fog around Drenas is not lifting,” despite Hamza’s recent statements. According to Lladrovci, the only way to change Kosovo’s political direction is through unity, not through ambiguous messaging or internal maneuvering.
Lladrovci argued that Hamza’s approach misrepresents the situation by blurring the line between responsibility and outcome, claiming that such rhetoric does not strengthen either the party or its local branches. He emphasized that PDK must undergo a serious reform of its political and organizational approach, and that the party should operate with “the language of winners — with vision, without conditions, and without deceit.”
The Drenas mayor went further, calling for the removal of political “short-sightedness” within PDK, warning that otherwise the party risks being defined by “wrongdoers and political proxies,” despite its legacy as a party founded by “heroes of war and peace.”
His remarks highlight the deepening internal tensions within PDK as the party attempts to regroup ahead of the December elections, while also facing heightened public scrutiny and demands for clearer leadership.
