The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement (VV), Albin Kurti, held a press conference to discuss his party’s performance in the October 12 local elections.

Kurti stated that, according to preliminary results, VV has won three municipalities outright, but could also secure a fourth victory in Gjilan once votes from the diaspora are counted.

Vetëvendosje has won without a runoff in Podujeva, Kamenica, and Shtime. With the diaspora votes, we might also win Gjilan outright. This means that in the four municipalities where we’ve governed, we continue without a runoff,” Kurti told the media.

He added that VV will compete in 12 municipalities in the runoff, out of 17 in total, “if Gjilan is included.”

The only municipalities where VV is not in the runoff are Kllokot, Sharri, Junik, Klina, and Theranda. Of course, these are preliminary results, and we are still awaiting the counting of conditional and diaspora votes,” the VV leader emphasized.
