LDK (Democratic League of Kosovo) MP Lutfi Haziri has stated that party leader Lumir Abdixhiku is the first-choice candidate they would support for president, in the event of a possible agreement with the Vetëvendosje Movement.
“Of course yes. According to our first rule, the LDK candidate is the first one we support, and this has not even been debated, because in our case individual names were not discussed. When consensus names were discussed, they were beyond party lines. But we understood that with PDK even individual names were discussed,” Haziri said on Tëvë1.
He added that if an agreement is reached with LVV, LDK would secure not only its 15 parliamentary votes but also additional support from other parties.
Haziri also said that LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku is currently holding internal consultations and discussions on whether an agreement with LVV can be reached.
“Mr. Abdixhiku is now in the phase of consultations and internal discussions after the first meeting regarding the process, whether we can reach an agreement,” Haziri said.
The LDK deputy further stated that in the second round of meetings between Albin Kurti and Lumir Abdixhiku regarding the presidency, discussions about a possible agreement between the two parties have taken place.
