French President Emmanuel Macron and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have jointly expressed their support for a ceasefire in Gaza and for the two-state solution as a path to peace between Israel and Palestine, RKS News reports.

During a joint press conference in Paris, the two leaders emphasized the importance of ensuring humanitarian aid reaches the Palestinian enclave, urging Israel to allow the immediate delivery of emergency assistance to the besieged population.

“We are working with several parties, including Saudi Arabia, to find a solution. For now, Israel must allow aid into Gaza,” Macron stated.

Prime Minister Anwar condemned Israeli strikes on Iran and stressed the need for Iran to engage peacefully and honor its commitments to international inspections.

The leaders also voiced support for a ceasefire in Ukraine. Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to France will be followed by an official trip to Brazil.

Since October 2023, over 57,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s offensive on Gaza, the majority of whom are women and children. The humanitarian situation in the enclave has significantly deteriorated due to severe food shortages and the spread of disease.

Israel is facing international investigations, including arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for its leaders and a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
