The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, sent a congratulatory letter to President Vjosa Osmani on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence.
In his letter, Macron emphasized that the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia remains a matter of European security, and that France supports the EU-facilitated dialogue.
He stated that the Brussels and Ohrid Agreements have set the direction, stressing that it is up to both parties to implement them.
“Building on our shared values, in fields as diverse as Olympic sports, Francophonie, and the promotion of women’s rights, I hope our cooperation can develop in key areas for Kosovo’s future, including through strengthening our economic exchanges,” Macron wrote.
Macron also highlighted that the reunification of our continent depends on the integration of Western Balkan countries into the European Union.
“In the face of global disorder and brutality, the unity of our continent must remain our shared priority,” Macron underscored.
