French President Emmanuel Macron was the first leader to arrive at Lancaster House in London, where European leaders are gathering today for a crucial summit on Ukraine.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, meanwhile, held bilateral talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street before joining the summit. Starmer is welcoming leaders individually as they arrive at Lancaster House.

The high-stakes meeting follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “catastrophic” visit to Washington, which deepened tensions between Kyiv and the U.S. administration.

As Starmer previously announced, the UK, France, and possibly one or two other nations will work with Ukraine on a ceasefire plan before discussing it with the United States.
